National Action Plan against Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance (2014-2016)
National Action Plan against Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance (2014-2016)
The National Action Plan against Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance is a three-year program of measures to make the principle of equal treatment and anti-discrimination one systematic and effective.
Approved with D.M. 7 August 2015 by the Minister of Labor and Social Policies, the Plan represents the first example, at anational level, of a dynamic and coordinated response of institutions and civil society to the resurgence of the racist phenomenon that is being witnessed not only in our country, but throughout the European context.
The Plan assumes that any form of fight against racism, xenophobia and intolerance should concern all forms of discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, age, disability, sex, beliefs and religious practices.
The Plan pattern was given by UNAR through an internal working group supported by experts and consultants, keeping in consideration not only statistic data on cases of racism but also the ones regarding the scope of intervention detected by the European Union.
The main objectives of the Plan are:
- Collecting data to track the discrimination into the working fields.
- Stimulating the introduction of the diversity management policies and the opposition to discrimination by public and private businesses.
